Here is a list of a few of the more common questions we get asked on a regular basis.

What are your opening times?
We are open from 8.00am to 4.00 pm, Monday to Friday. The Pre School is closed all bank holidays and Christmas week.
How long will it take for my child to settle in at the Pre School?
Every child is different, but all children are treated with the same personal care and attention to help them settle quickly. Some children settle in straight away, others take a few days and very few can take longer. Settling at the preschool is often more worrying for parents than children, so we aim to make your experience just as stress-free by giving you lots of opportunities to play with your child in the preschool environment and ask lots of questions before you leave them with us.
What if my child is ill or has an accident whilst at the Pre School?
If your child becomes ill whilst in our care, we will try to contact you immediately. If we cannot contact you, we will try to contact your next choice on your child’s emergency contact form (you fill this in prior to your child-starting our Pre School). If your child has an accident we follow the same guidelines, however, if we feel that it is serious we will take your child to the nearest hospital.
What happens if my child is ill and cannot attend?
We ask parents to ring and let us know if their child will not be in. Unfortunately, no refund can be made if your child doesn’t attend owing to illness.
What happens if I can’t get to pick my child up?
If you know that someone different will be picking your child up then give us a description of the person and a password; we will sometimes ask them for your child’s date of birth. Once we know these people a password isn’t necessary but please inform us that they will be picking up your child.
Does the nursery accept childcare vouchers?
Yes. We are registered with the main childcare voucher providers, however, if your employer uses one we are not registered with, we can register with them. We are happy to accept childcare vouchers from both parents, even if they are from different voucher providers.
How often do you review your fees and when do we have to pay our fees?
The fees are reviewed annually every October. Payment is due 2 weeks after your bill has been issued and can be paid either by childcare vouchers, direct debit, cash, cheque or bacs payment.
My child is 3 – can I claim the Nursery Education Grant at your Pre School?
Yes, every child can claim 15 hours of nursery education from the term after their 3rd birthday. Please contact the Pre School Manager for further details.
Are staff allowed mobile phones in the rooms?
No, all staff have to hand their phones in the office when they arrive at work. Whilst parents may have a mobile phone on in the nursery, we request that they are not used in the rooms.
Does the nursery have a full set of policies and procedures?
Yes, we have policies and procedures covering all aspects of child welfare, staffing etc. They are available to view in all rooms. We review our policies once a year, or more often should there be a need e.g. a change in regulations/legislation.
